Pre-S1 Experiential Learning Days
A Fantastic Success! A Look Back at Two Days of Fun-Filled School Life
On 9th and 16th May 2026, our school welcomed our lovely and energetic incoming Year 7 students for two consecutive Saturdays of our super exciting Year 7 Taster Days! Guided throughout by our warm teachers and enthusiastic Student Ambassadors, the students got a thrilling taste of secondary school life and its many surprises. They truly experienced our school’s unique culture: “Rooted in Chinese heritage, branching out to global vision.” Let’s take a look back at these two amazing days!
Day 1 – 9th May: STEM + Sports – Let’s Get Moving!
STREAM Team Workshops
Starting at 9:55 am, three STREAM workshops took place in a row! Led by our STREAM Team teachers and Student Ambassadors, the new students got hands‑on, solving problems in groups and exploring the endless fun of science, technology, robotics, art and more. Each session lasted around 50 minutes – fast‑paced, fun and engaging!
Break Time – Gathering in the School Hall
Everyone met in the school hall for a break. Our Year 7 newcomers chatted with their group mates, the Student Ambassadors, and the STREAM Team teachers, feeling the warmth of the big family at our school.
Sports Fun – Sweat & Friendship
PE teachers and Student Ambassadors led sports activities in the hall – including basketball reaction drills and more. Everyone played with enthusiasm and joy. Even those who don’t usually enjoy sports said they had a great time and couldn’t stop smiling.
Day 2 – 16th May: Chinese Culture × English Poetry × English Drama
Chinese Department – Lacquered Fan Crafting
Chinese teachers first explained the history and techniques of the traditional Chinese craft “lacquered fan”. Then, with the help of teachers and student assistants, each new student made their own unique lacquered fan! The fans turned out colourful and full of personality – and everyone could take their masterpiece home as a keepsake.
English Department – Writing Poetry with Our Foreign Teacher
Our witty and fun foreign teacher led the students into the wonderful world of English poetry! Through games and rhythm exercises, the Year 7 newcomers learned to write their own short poems using simple yet beautiful English words. In group recitals and individual writing sessions, the students bravely stepped up to share their work – full of confidence!
English Drama Appreciation – Feeling the Power of the Stage
The English Department also arranged a special English drama performance. The Year 7 students were captivated by the actors’ emotional expression and body language. For many, it was their first time experiencing the emotional power of theatre up close – and it made them fall in love with both English and drama.
A Heartfelt Thank You to All Our Teachers and Students
Thank you to our dedicated teachers for your hard work, patient guidance, and individual support – from explaining activities to giving one‑on‑one help. Every student felt valued.
Thank you to our warm and helpful Student Ambassadors for being wonderful “campus navigators” – showing the way, explaining, accompanying, and chatting. You helped the newcomers feel at home right away.
Our school offers a wide variety of activities – whether active or quiet, traditional or innovative – so that everyone can find something they love.
We believe in educating the whole person, and we hope every student can discover and develop their own talents. Whether you love science, sports, art, or languages, here you will find your stage.
See You in September – Welcome to Our Family!
Although the two Taster Days are now over, your secondary school journey is just about to begin! In the 2026 academic year, we warmly welcome you to join this happy, exciting, and supportive family.
