Anhui Education Tour 2026

The Chinese Foundation Secondary School has always adhered to its educational philosophy of " Rooted in China, Connected to Our Country; Revitalizing the Nation through Science and Education." We are committed to nurturing a new generation of young people who possess a sense of national identity, global perspectives, and innovative capabilities. We are deeply grateful to The Anhui Fraternity Association (Hong Kong) for meticulously organising the "Anhui-Hong Kong: Walking Together with One Heart" Youth Exchange Programme 2026. We also extend our sincere thanks to the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau of Hong Kong for the full sponsorship, which enabled our teachers and students to participate in this education tour to Anhui at no cost. This invaluable opportunity allowed us to gain an in-depth understanding of Anhui's remarkable achievements and practical experiences in areas such as historical and cultural preservation, education, and technological innovation. These insights will profoundly inspire and inform our future efforts to strengthen school-based innovation and technology education, as well as to refine our strategies for nurturing talent.

Our school places great emphasis on whole-person development, fostering both humanistic qualities and promoting technology education. We actively implement the STREAM interdisciplinary learning model (encompassing Science, Technology, Reading and Writing, Engineering and Robotics, Art and Design, and Mathematics). Through courses on artificial intelligence applications and aerospace technology, we aim to guide students in understanding our nation's developmental achievements while cultivating their spirit of inquiry and innovative thinking, preparing them to contribute to technological innovation and national development in the future.

During the visit, we had the opportunity to visit Hefei No. 1 High School, facilitating meaningful exchanges between the youth of Anhui and Hong Kong. A particularly significant experience was visiting key research facilities, including the Hefei Science and Technology Museum and the "Artificial Sun" Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST), the world's first fully superconducting tokamak device. This facility has repeatedly set world records for the duration of high-temperature plasma operation, allowing our students to appreciate the nation's leading position in the international field of magnetic confinement fusion research. This experience deepened our understanding of youth development pathways and provided a genuine appreciation for the vitality and innovative energy characterising educational concepts and practices on the mainland.

Additionally, we visited historical and cultural sites such as the Former Residence of Yang Chenning, the Anhui’s Celebrities Museum, and Sanhe Ancient Town. Sanhe Ancient Town, renowned as a "millennium-old town, historical battlefield, hometown of celebrities, and culinary paradise," is a national-level tourist attraction. Anhui is not only home to magnificent landscapes like the Huangshan and Jiuhua Mountains but also stands as one of the crucial birthplaces of Chinese civilisation.

We were also privileged to visit Anhui Zhong'an Chuanggu Technology Park Co., Ltd. and the iFlytek headquarters, where we observed first-hand the development status of innovative enterprises and the outcomes of industrial transformation. Being at the forefront of these enterprises allowed us to witness the momentum of technology transitioning from research and development to application, as well as the pace of industrial upgrading. This experience provided crucial insights into how we can integrate new national development achievements and trends into our curriculum design and students' career planning. It further reinforced our conviction that education must keep pace with the times.

We firmly believe that education is the cornerstone of a nation's long-term development. Hong Kong and the mainland each possess unique advantages in educational resources and professional practices. By continuing to deepen exchange and collaboration, we can undoubtedly generate stronger synergies in areas such as technology education, cultural preservation, and youth development.

Looking ahead, we aspire to further strengthen connections and cooperation with educational institutions and organisations on the mainland. This will enable our students to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the nation's overall development, encouraging them to align their personal growth with the needs of the country. By enhancing their sense of mission and responsibility, we aim to empower them to contribute to the nation's future development.
