Financial Education Event in Old Bank of China building

Thank you to Mr. Ho Ngai Kam Stanley, Eastern District Council Member, for his thoughtful coordination. On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 19, over sixty S.4 students successfully visited the Old Bank of China building in Central for a highly meaningful financial education event — "Stepping into a Grade I Historic Building: Unlocking the History of Bank of China x Youth Financial Literacy Talk." Students had the rare opportunity to set foot in this Grade I historic building and, through the "Time Travel Journey at the Bank History Gallery" conducted in small groups, gained a deeper understanding of the Bank of China's role in Hong Kong's economic development and societal changes over the past century. Following that, Mr. Kwok Siu Hei Daniel from the Wealth Strategy and Insights Division, Personal Banking Product Department, Bank of China (Hong Kong), led a youth financial literacy talk. The session covered the evolution of different forms of currency, effective money management tips, ways to become a savvy consumer, and crucial strategies to guard against various scams. The event was rich in content, presented in an engaging and accessible manner, and left students not only with enhanced financial knowledge but also with greater awareness of daily money management — a truly rewarding experience for all.
