Riding the Waves, Breaking New Ground – Cultivating Resilience and Teamwork Through Water Sports
CFSS, in partnership with Causeway Bay Baptist Church, jointly organized the “Splash into Summer Day Camp” on Saturday, 11 July. The camp took place at the YMCA Wong Yi Chau Youth Camp (Sai Kung). Under the expert guidance of professional camp instructors, students had the opportunity to experience kayaking and stand-up paddling (SUP). This was more than just a physical and technical challenge; it was also a journey of mental growth and team building. Through paddling, balancing, and looking out for one another, students learnt to communicate and cooperate with their teammates amid waves and winds, and tackle unexpected difficulties together. Each time they fell into the water and got back on board, they would break through their self-imposed limits and build inner resilience. We hope that the courage gained from the water would carry over into their daily studies and lives, enabling them to face any future adversities with composure, rise to challenges, and turn seemingly insurmountable obstacles into manageable solutions – one stroke at a time.
