Remembering September 18th, Passing On the Spirit of Resistance
On the 95th anniversary of the "September 18th Incident," commemorative events were held across the country. In Hong Kong, The Cherishing Chinese Heritage Hong Kong New Generation Education Association hosted the "September 18th: Never Forget History, Never Forget the Original Aspiration Recital" and Song Launch Event at the Jockey Club Auditorium of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, promoting the spirit of resistance to the younger generation, taking history as a mirror, and never forgetting national humiliation.
At the event, a commemorative September 18th song created in rap form was premiered, with primary, secondary, and university students giving their all in the performance.
The organizers also invited three former guerrilla fighters from the Hong Kong-Kowloon Independent Brigade of the former East River Column to share their experiences. Guests and audience members deeply felt the hardships endured by the veteran fighters and expressed their heartfelt respect to them.
The National Flag Team of The Chinese Foundation Secondary School conducted a flag-raising ceremony for this commemorative event, and Mr. Yam Tat-wing, former Deputy Commissioner of the Hong Kong Police Force, presented a commemorative certificate to the National Flag Team.
