Hong Kong Patriotic Education Centre Invites Professor Zhong Cheng-wen from Northwestern University to Deliver a "Three Aviation" Lecture at CFSS

The Hong Kong Patriotic Education Centre invited Professor Zhong Cheng-wen from the School of Aeronautics at Xi'an Northwestern University to visit The Chinese Foundation Secondary School and deliver a "Three Aviation Lecture Series" talk titled "A Century of Flight: The Evolution of Aviation Technology and Future Trends." Professor Zhong led us through a review of the magnificent 120-year history of aviation technology, tracing how humanity, on its path of aviation exploration, overcame multiple technological bottlenecks one by one: including gravity, the sound barrier, the thermal barrier, the blackout barrier, and the visual barrier. Professor Zhong also traced the iterative evolution of aircraft from early models to modern variants, enabling teachers and students to gain deeper insight into the core characteristics and key technological breakthroughs of each generation of aircraft.

Professor Zhong subsequently toured the school's Hall of Fame of Science, Science & Sustainable Development Resource Centre, and School Library, learning about the school's development in science and technology education, and expressed his hope for more collaboration between CFSS and Xi'an Northwestern University in the future.
