Celebrating the National Day and Promoting Intangible Cultural Heritage: School Chinese Orchestra and Students Participate in the Yee Wan Community Cultural Performance

Our school's Chinese Orchestra and students were honoured to take part in the "Celebrating the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China — Yee Wan Community 'Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance' Cultural Performance," organised by the Yee Wan Area Committee and co-organised and sponsored by the Eastern District Office of the Home Affairs Department. The performance was held at the Siu Sai Wan Community Hall.

Intangible cultural heritage is our precious spiritual wealth. With "Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance" as its theme, the performance aimed to enable residents to experience the unique charm of traditional culture up close while celebrating the National Day together, so that our fine traditional Chinese culture may be carried forward and passed on from generation to generation.

At the performance, our school's Chinese Orchestra was honoured to perform three pieces: "Colourful Clouds Chasing the Moon," "A Laugh in the Sea," and "Dragon Dance." This was followed by student Lau Cheuk-nam's Cantonese opera excerpt "Encounter at the Nunnery from The Floral Princess" and student Yiu Hiu-tung's Cantonese opera excerpt "Illusion of Parting Sorrow," promoting intangible cultural heritage to an audience of over 400.
