Seminars on Sustainable Development

Two seminars on environmental and cultural sustainability have been organized on a whole-school basis. We were proud to invite Mr. Stanley Lee, Vice-chairman of Green Power, to give a talk on the topic of “Dying Fate of the Chinese White Dolphins”, followed by Mr. Ho Tik Shun’s sharing on conservation of sea turtles in Sham Wan on Lamma Island by Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department on 28 June 2011. In addition, we invited Miss Aki Ho from Life Workshop to share with us on how the organization plays an important role in urban conservation, followed by discussion on conservation of cultural heritage in the Eastern District led by class teachers on 30 June 2011. This is a School Outreach Program sponsored by the Council for Sustainable Development. This was also one of the activities available for the participating schools to join for qualifying the Bronze Award under the Sustainable Development School Award Program, paving the way for the completion of Gold Award in the coming years.
