Our Students as Simultaneous Interpreters at Hong Kong International Science Fair 2011 Closing Ceremony

On 18th October 2011, ten S.6 students had their first experience as simultaneous interpreters at the Hong Kong International Science Fair 2011 Closing Ceremony organized at Lecture Theatre of Hong Kong Design Institute. The students translated parts of the programme from Chinese into English for participants who came from different countries, such as the United States, Italy, Argentina, Turkey, Tunisia, etc. It was a valuable opportunity for them not only to meet with people from different backgrounds, but also to practise their spoken English outside school as well as to boost their confidence when conversing with people of different nationalities.
